Aircon

Was aircon ever an option for the 200TDi Disco?

If it was, how difficult would it be to strip off a scrapped one and install in a running one?

Failing that, are there any after market options for this?

yes it was.

LR even offered a complete kit so as to install an A/C to vehicles that were not fitted with one from the factory.

Fitting includes removal of the complete dashboard assembly and replacement of the complete heater and fresh air fan assembly.

You may still be able to find a factory kit.

If not, there are several people who can install an aftermarket one.

Don't know about after market, but the one on my 50th 90 certainly looks like an afterthought

Yes - in Australia, air con was standard. In fact, LR is one of teh few 4WDs who sell their cars with aircon as standard. The Japanese don't - noit that anyone would buy one without air con in this country. it's a way to make the price look low.
