melted light switch.

I tend to assume that it'd got corroded or something and thus heated up unduly.

new one did the same thing (put the lights out) for no obvious reason a few days ago, thought "b*******, I've only just replaced that."

after a few minutes it returned to normal function and subsequent examination led to no enlightenment as to why - it certainly ain't melted like the old one.

I might stick a damn' great relay on it, if I find one knocking around, so that the light switch is only carrying the side light load.

I've seen this on a Montego where the wire snaps close to the switch. And the stalks are Montego I believe.
