Book and Exclamation on Climate Contol LCD window in 95 RR 4.6HSE

Hi there,

I've looked through the manual and cannot see anything that mentions what this means. It was on yesterday as I was driving home. Does anyone know what this means?

It's not been on before and I've not seen it since then. I've got no other warning lights or anything else appear on the main dashboard to say there was a problem.

Thanks for any help,

Jas

It's an aircon fault, most likely a blend motor failure in a car the age of yours. How's the aircon system? Check if you have similar temperatures coming from the two central vents on the dash. If one won't heat or cool, you may have a blend motor failure. A dealer or good repair shop specialising in LR product can diagnose it for you.

The chequebook comes on when there is a HEVAC fault. If the fault clears, the chequebook clears. It could be blend motors, it could be the core temperature sender, it could be a connector to the blower motors.

Firstly check David Sparkes write up on testing the HEVAC - see

If you need to do anything like replacing blend flap motors, read

Hmm, I just wrote that a couple of days ago for the Coil Sprung Owners lsit.

Thanks for the info both of you. Looking at the first web page below, it says if the fault is still present the book will illuminate when starting the engine. Fortunatly I've not seen it since that one trip. Hopefully it was a transiant thing. (He says praying over his wallet ;-) )

In news: snipped-for-privacy@posting.google.com, Jason Dean blithered:

It is somewhat alarming the warning is a chequebook, nice of them to prepare you for the worst?

LR have always been good like that. Don't fix problems, just tell you when you're having one.
