eeek.

can;t remember who has the thing that does newsgroup stats - it's better than MS's thing (unsurprisingly) and includes amount of original content and so on.

one of the bikers, I think it is.

QDNstats is one program. I did it on this newsgroup a month or two ago, and convinced myself that i should try and spend less time posting, and more time being productive :-) I was in the top 5 then, am down to number 10 now! (You were still number 1 Austin!)

I'll run it tonight when i get home. I've got the last year and a half or so in agent here ready for it to use.

P'raps I should run it on the last 10 odd years worth of a.f.l May be an interesting exercise if only to see if I've ever said anything worth reading...

10 years of posting stats would be quite impressive!

IIRC though, the version of qdnstats i had wasnt even happy working on

1 years worth of data at a time.

I've got a couple of perl scripts somewhere to do this. My archive is a bit fragmented though - I have all the postings, but only 6 or 7 years worth in Agent - the older archive (prolly 12 or so years) is what I dumped to disk when I stopped running my own dnews server.

Probably. The two seem to go together. And cats. It's a strange thing - motorbikes begets IT jobs begets cats.

Before I got a motorbike I had two Land Rovers (an 86" S1 pickup and a 2aFC) and a crappy job in a call centre.

Since getting a motorbike, an IT job (basic though it is) landed on my head and my flatmate had a cat forcibly given to him. So, here I am teaching myself various scripts and ADO thingies while being constantly pestered for food by a creature which could quite easily eat itself spherical on the assorted local wildlife.

This will be the first winter since 1993 that I've not owned a Land/Range Rover. It's gonna be a bad un!

Presuming that my last post wont show up for most people as it was too big, this is a truncated version, and the complete post is at:
