Connectors for a Discovery 300 tdi rear bumper lightbulb holder???

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know where I could get hold of the connectors that plug onto the bulb holders in the rear bumper light cluster of a 300tdi disco?

I've been to my local dealer (Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton) and they seem to think that these bits are part of the wiring loom and not available seperately. I can't believe that we're apparently not trusted enough to be able to replace these ourselves! It's not exactly rocket science.

I've got a couple of dodgy connections in the current connectors and bulb holders and I'd rather replace both bits together, just to make sure. The tiny slivers of bacofoil I've shoved in there can't last forever......

Cheers in advance,

Ian

Hi there. I have broken a few of these vehicles over the past few months (shameful I know!) and I've got a stack of rear bumpers in various conditions, and I always keep wiring looms. I'll look you out a connector or two if you like. I'm presently tearing into a 300 TDi disco which has rotted beyond sensible repair status. Sadly it's low mileage too. Anyone for an engine or gearbox?

Anyway, what a completely stupid place to put lights in a 4x4. Mounted in the bumper, they get dipped in mud and water, wacked, and bashed by trailers. Stupid stupid stupid land rover designers. Give me a call on 07887 694427 and I'll sort you out a connector. Like you, I can't stand the price of some small simple parts. Buying part of a loom for just one connector is Flippin stupid too isnt it. Not very green! P.S my E-mail address is completely spoof. I can't stand all the SPAM which comes from these groups. Cheers. Joe.
