Does anyone happen to know whether David French is carrying a satellite phone with him? Cheers, John

Hi Lee, I'm trying to find out if there is a way round the Icelandic restriction of 3kg per person on food imports, that wouldn't keep us in coffee for three weeks! I was thinking of ringing David to see if he'd thought of a way round it, as you can't exactly live off the land in the highlands of Iceland. I should have planned to got to Antartica, at least there I could have p-p-p-p icked up a penguin! Cheers, John
Well what are you waiting for ....give him a ring :-)

There are plenty of shops in Iceland that you pass on your way to the highlands, no need to import food. And please, no off-road driving, we want our unspoiled nature kept that way!
I wonder if he's enjoying his "Pot Noodles"!
... whereas quite a lot of people in the UK seem to want to stop 4x4s driving on roads, and would prefer them to drive on the countryside with the owners' permission.

there's no real problem (apart from the more dedicated Nimbys) with off-road sites. There *should* be no problem with sensible use of greenlanes, but the sensible part seems to tend to go missing.
