Its probably been asked before- but how do you get to the bloody thing to change it without removing exhaust or turbo oil drain.

I am assuming that your mean the full flow oil filter not the centrifuge rotor. The procedure is as follows
- Remove 3 bolts and remove engine acoustic cover
- Release clip and disconnect breather hose from camshaft cover
- Release clips and disconnect air flow meter from air filter
- Disconnect multiplug from air flow meter
- Loosen clip screw and remove air inlet hose from turbocharger
- Remove 3 bolts and remove manifold heat shield
- Clean area around filter head and place a container beneath engine
- Using a strap wrench unscrew and discard filter
