Discovery 2 tryes

Got some Scorpion 255 55 18's on at the minute, ones bald, ones got a nail in the sidewall & three are in new condition. It's gonna cost me £250-£300 for 2 new Scorpions. The bloke at Kwik fit has a full set of

255 60 18 Good Year in stock for £200 for all five. Any problems if i fit them? If not, anyone want three like new Scorpions?

I paid £60 each for Scorpions recently, Tollgate Tyres Bury St Edmunds, that was for a '96 Disco though. I've always found Kwick-fit-up to be expensive. TonyB

I'm running Marshal Matrac STX on mine (255/55-18), I was told that the

255/60 is a little too tall in the sidewall but I've never tried it to see...... Badger.

I doubt swapping from a 55 profile to a 60 will do any harm Nige, more ground clearance!!

Pop the figures in here for peace of mind

'tis true but not that uncommon on DII's it appears. 255/65R16 on mine ATM, set of 18" wheels in the garage.

The OP's /60 v /55 will mean a slightly different rolling radius, this may or may not be important. There is a web site that does the maths somewhere and speedo errors incured etc. A full set all the same I don't really see much of a problem, it might be if you mix them though. Makes the diffs work harder...

always done me a good service - plus they come to you to fit.

I got wranglers AT/R's for £75 a corner last year - wearing very well ie still virtually new and more than competant off-road

Goodyears have more of a tendency to wear unevenly causing tram lining . Only really happens on vehicles with 18" wheels.

I am selling loads of General AT2's for Disco 2 , 3 and P38 they seem to do a very good job if you want to get it a little muddy.

I had General AT2's on the P38 - I was impressed with them, good price, seemed to perform well on-road and I didn't notice any real difference in road noise, plus when you want to get muddy you have the ability to do so.

You're right, mine are 235 70 16's I think. Sorry, I thought they were standard sizes. TonyB
