Has anyone received a recall letter yet.
I phoned my dealer ofter hearing about it and he checked somewhere and said mine needed the work but that they could not do the work until I had received the letter from Landrover.
He also said that they were waiting for parts.
So far nothing from Landrover.

Yes, for two defenders. Arrived several days apart during past two weeks.
Dealer in Settle is currently doing the work, parts in stock from earlier this month. One defender already done, the other next week. On the defender its just a matter of two 'reinforcing' plates and longer bolts being added to the ABS unit to (as I understand it) prevent the ABS 'pistons' (?) from punching through the housing during heavy use.

My Discovery TD5 ES went in for its first MOT (so now 3 years old) and they did the brake and ACE recalls whilst it was there - they said the letters were 'only just going out'.
Incidentally it failed its MOT on 'drivers seat belt fails to release under pressure' So change it under the warranty says I (two weeks to go ) - sorry out of stock - they ordered the bit and I went back when it came in for the re-test. I went ballistic when they tried to charge for the second test which 'would have been free if within two weeks' which it couldn't have met as they didn't get the bit. Needless to say I refused to pay having first put the certificate in my pocket.
Don't you love main dealers (Beadles of Sidcup in this case)

I bought my TD5 from a non franchised dealer. Will Land Rover still be able to contact me. Via DVLA??
If not how would owners of second-hand cars know about the recall. If I had not known from this NG or LRO I would be totally unaware of this recall.

Similarly, I phoned the dealer a week last Wednesday and was told all the letters had been posted "yesterday" so if I didn't get one "today" my vehicle was not involved. No letter yet, but, I believe my VIN is involved. Perhaps the problem(s) were corrected without reference at last service?

And what follow-up are the proposing given that circa 30 percent of those 'posted' letters will never arrive?
