I don't know what they're rated at but I don't think there's any heavier guage (or stronger) wheels in the Landrover range. Provided the stud pattern or P.C.D is the same, I would use them. They are not the same as the later Disco's have but I don't think the 110"s ever had the smaller PCD hubs. Have you seen the thickness of them? I reckon you could throw a couple of tame elephants in the back without risk of them bending.

Thanks alot, good question about the PCD etc, I think I have seen several defenders running with these wheels on but I will try to find out. I could also check out the gross weights of the older discovery compared to the 110.

If the bids stay low I think I'll get them.

just found the GVW of the discovery is only 2720, 110 is 3050, so it's a no-go. Andrew

But what are the wheels rated at? Not the max rating of the car. The offset on them isn't massive and could reduce the turning circle compared to eight spoke or modulars.

That's true I suppose, but just means I would have to find out what the rating actually is etc (and be able to prove it). I'm just on the look out for some cheapish rims near me (highlands) so I can put my road tyres on in order to be able to swap from my normal muds. Cheers, Andrew

Andrew, a Disco 1 steel rim is stronger than an original 110 rim - just ask anyone who'se used them for comp safari or hilrally use. We run disco steels on our hillrally racer and they take a lot more abuse than ANY aftermarket

8-spoke that's currently available. As someone else said, they are thicker metal than the defender rims - go for it, you'll be fine! Badger.

same stud spacing, more offset possibly, so make sure the tyres/rims don't rub the chassis/suspension etc.

Thanks Badger and Austin. I'll bid for them, as they are so close to me (only 2hrs). I've always liked the look of these wheels as well. Andrew
