FS: 101 FC Vampire (in the US)

No it's not mine, just spotted on my pinz list, someone is selling up some of his vehicle fleet, and it includes a 1972 101 FC Vampire. Just in case any USers are interested!

Good point! Question sent. 1975 before 101s turned up wasn't it?

No, 1972 - but only a handful and no VAMPIREs

WHOAH!!

It's Martyn ;-)

So it takes a post about Vampires to drag you out then?

So when were Vamps available?

I thought I'd see if a certain website could furnish me with the details, but you've flushed it away and replaced it with a mini-rant, what you really need to do is to move across to a new vehicle, perhaps a six-wheeled Austrian one ;-) It's a shame the website's gone, hopefully you'll bring it back one day soon.

I'm just searching for "vampire 101 history" but that's just getting me buffy pages :-/

I thoughts vamps were just hardtops taken out of service and refitted.. So they could be any year, any delivery.. Possibly just the straightest ones?

That looks like the issue, the chap's just replied, he said;

So it looks like it was based on a 1972 chassis when it was turned into a vampire.

V.A.M.P.I.R.E. bodied 101s were specifically commissioned and built onto NEW vehicles. There were only thought to be 18 (probably 21) built.

Who are you calling a Whoah?

That and being so incredibly bored at work that even 'talking' about

101s is better than not being able to go and enjoy any of mine :-(

Buffy pages actually being far more interesting, IMO...

Sorry, overcome with shock at you being here ;-)

Can't you make an excuse to go for a drive in the "delivery van"? That's what being a boss is about isn't it?

And I hope the only reason you can't go and enjoy yours is because you're at work and not that they're knackered?

Naah, never been a buffy fan, watched a few shows, ended up rooting for the vampires.. Don't even have a telly any more.

Blimey, I seem to have raised a sensible discussion point for a change!

So now we know ... it's guts are 1972!

That means it's tax exempt as well ... my best offer is currently £50 ... ;-)

I did that once, can't remember when. Put it down to 'every dog has their day' then forgot about it.

Reckon that depends on where you live. Shipping costs back to the UK may not mitigate the "tax exempt" status.

Well, this is what he said next;

$ My Vampire has a production date in early '77, but as I had said, $ The Netherlands changed the year to what the VRN was... all the $ better for me here in Ca, I had to sell a '76 101GS because I knew $ it couldn't be registered here.

So it's either a '72 chassis with associated VIN and was converted to a Vamp in '77, or something else.

And as for £50, that's about $90, but then you have to add shipping!

Lucky Lee is away on holiday he was looking for a mast to mount a camera on I reckon Mrs D would be less than impressed . Also available as a trailer btw we shipped one out during the first gulf altercation sadly it arrived fuelled at the office so we had to run it to empty it before it could go on an aircraft. They do go a long way up and the first few sections have a platform which the brave ( see also nutter) can stand on for a better view and a change of underwear Derek.
