G-reg 110 box

OK, Been looking properly at the H-plater with no engine and box, turns out the chassis and doors are iffy.

So, I'm considering the G-plate with the iffy 'box again.

So, any thoughts about which 'box it is, i.e. LT77 or LT85?

It's a factory V8 CSW, 1989 or 1990, 5-speeder which has reverse left-and-forward. "Normal" looking hi-low lever with diff-lock on the left although it's stiff, doubtless not been used.

If it is an LT85, is that like a LT95, with an integral t-box, or does it use the LT230 like an LT77?

not super-critical, but it'd be nice to have a LT230 for it in place of the BW, both for the ratios and for the propshaft length.

LT85 looks very similar to LT77 and uses the LT230 transfer box Austin. I have in fact seen late model V8 defenders with an LT77 box from the factory, just prior to the introduction of the R380. I ran an LT230 in my own 110 V8 for years with no issues whatsoever, despite the doom-and-gloom merchants proclaiming imminent failure, and that was me using it as a rally recovery unit and for RTV trialling as well! Thanks. Plan F (or wherever it'd got to) is now on hold anyway: the bloke has the motor on fleabay with a starting bid of 1850. "If it doesn't sell, I'll get back to you"

It's a mushroom-brown CSW if anyone wants a look. To be fair, it's worth what he's asking, I reckon - but *I* can never get what things are worth in theory when I sell the sods.

The only bad point is the 'box. Personally, having heard it, I'd not trust it for long distance journeys. Aside from that the other kit that's on it and the general condition (very good) makes it easily worth 1800 notes, but if you factor in a replacement box and fitting (which I'd do meself, but I still need to factor the time) then you're talking getting on for another grand, and that makes it a bit pricey.

So I reckon I'm, back to plan A, in fact: rebuild my 110 on a galv chassis (which I happen to know where one is which I reckon I can buy). Still would prefer a LT230 on it, so if anyone has one in good usable condition (or even needing a new input gear) then I'll be interested. Probably 90 ratios would suit best - early 110 ratios might be a bit too low. Basically, anything a bit lower than the BW rangie box, which is a bit long-legged for the 3.5 engine in a 110.

as before, the BW box is available for swapsies, or I'd buy a usable LT230.

As I mentioned just over a week ago to your previous post, I have a 90/110 ratio recon transfer box which was fitted to a Disco, but you don't *really* want one, do you?, or had you forgotten? I thought it was only me who had the memory of a goldfish. :-)

yeah, I did notice - but at the time plan F was still in place - now it's not, I could do with the T-box again.

how much d'you want for it and have you got a standard 110 rear propshaft and if so how much for the pair.
