|| The worst to tow with, of || the current Land Rover range would be a Series II Discovery. || || Weight certainly helps but given the leverage || advantage that you can give the caravan by extending the tow point, || the extra weight of, say, a Range Rover doesn't make it any more || stable than a 90.
Just towed a 1400Kg caravan 650 miles over the weekend with the RR, West Wales, M4 and along the south coast to E Sussex and back. Apart from the odd slight sway when being passed by a flat-sided juggernaut, the caravan may as well not have been there. Stability was excellent. I'm pretty sure that towing level (thanks to the air-sus) and having a tug almost twice the weight of the trailer helps. The S2 Disco towed well as well - at least as far as stability went.
You make some good points, but I still think that sheer mass in a tow vehicle, plus a well-balanced outfit are the key to a stress-free experience.
