I used to be a diesel

No not me actually but it seems my landie may have started life as a diesel, or at least had a diesel engine in sometime.

I was aware the 2.25 petrol engine was not original as it is painted red, indicating a five main bearing engine, when they were still the old sort in

  1. However I was curios to find out what the strange coil and relay on the bulkhead was, and apparantly it is something to do with glowplugs, but not an official landrover item in any case.

All I really know about my landie is that it was delivered as new to a dealer in Nottingham, the dealers plate still being there. What engine it had I don't know, would I be able to get the details from Gaydon ?

I would also like to find out who the previos owners were how can one do that ?

can also tell you the date that it was born, the colour it was, andwhere it went to. (you dont need to buy a certificate to find out - hewill tell you for free, and if you visit, you can look at the bookyourself to find your landy)

i would say that the dvla would be a good place to start (lots of words at
