Insurance parasites...

Decided for a laugh to have a little ring around for different insurance cover as we've top'd 25K value on Grumble now and our existing insurers were getting twitchy about how much we were doing and/or spending...

This coincided with my decision not to leave Grumble on our 'all vehicles' policy. Quotes ranged from fecking ludicrous to downright obscene (I tend to go into ALL of the changes and mods in great detail, then follow this up in writing - I don't trust insurance companies).

I'd nearly decided to leave 'as is' and accept the hike in premium, but had to call a mate who also has a somewhat modified 101. "Try NFU" was the commendation. I'd always thought they were somewhat icky but thought it worth a few minutes of the work phone bill - so gave them a call...

All mods accepted, 100 quid excess, Any driver over 25, No claims protected, fully comp, unlimited milage, worldwide cover = 300 quid. I've never paid for anything as quickly!

Hmmmm...

And now the horror stories. It's just taken me TWO YEARS to get my NCD back - all because some silly tart didn't know how a roundabout works. I'll tell you about it at Billing :(

I removed Piglet from them and gave him to Adrian Flux.

Person on the roundabout has right of way ?? Idiot coming in from right but not yet on island assumes they have right of way because their line of traffic is entering the rounabout at the time ?? Know it well. Came to a roundabout near us as usual indicated to turn right ( 3/4 of way around ) stupid blond in a play 4x4 Vitara decides to pull straight out across my bonnet. Swore ( as usual ) and told her about her ancestory etc. Got back home and found the idiot sitting in our kitchen, turns out it was wifes friend ( who needs enemies ) oh ! was it you, did'nt see your indicators ( needs glasses to see front flasher and repeater. ) Perhaps I ought to change the front flasher to a real one that gets her attention ! ( oh was it you "hanging" around at the roundabout ?? )

'nother idiot at a two lane junction pulls slightly into my path and gets sliced up by my side steps, pulls up to exchange to find out he's driving a courtesy car from a ....... body shop ( wonder why ? ). Bent side steps/ sliced up bodywork; well I suppose he won't drift in front of another car again.

Just got back from a trip to Venezuela and I would SWEAR that the buses there have KNIVES on their wheel hubs, and I am not kidding in any way - they really only could be there with the intention of ruining someones entire day. Un-f6&*()_)-believable.

No probs here with adrian flux, but never had to make a claim either... Still, trusted them enough with the Disco, who were cheaper then *everyone* else that I rang. NFU wont touch because SWMBO hasn't yet had her licence for 3 years....

Adrian Flux have even been sensible about her SJ. Listed the mods and they want less than £400 fully comp (less than 3 years driving, never had her own outright insurance). With a bit of misfortune it may be at Billing, if the lightweight restoration takes second place (which it wont)
