OK, I can understand the brakes failing if he's trying to stop a run-a-way car, but what are the chances of the accelerator sticking AND not being able to get it out of gear? I can't think of any reason you wouldn't be able to shift it into neutral, even on an automatic - as I recall, neither could BMW. All seems a bit weird to me. I was going to say why the hell didn't he just turn the ignition off, but now I've seen what he looks like I have no need to ask!
