Now you've put your head over the parapet I'll happily join you and say that the new Rangie is fantastic and I want one very much indeed. Perhaps more realistic is the new Disco, and it is not beyond possibility that I will own one in 2005.
The reason I still have a '95 Disco is because the 2003 Disco doesn't do anything that the '95 doesn't. The interior and exterior functionality are basically the same from one to the other. The diesel is too slow and the V8 is just as thirsty as the '95, 'cos it's basically the same engine. So while it is 'nicer' and not as generally knackered as mine it doesn't offer the sort of improvement that I would need to justify 30 grand.
I'm very confident that the next Disco will address those issues...
Whilst we are confessing... I think the Freelander is fab, just too small for me. I really wish they would do a fast one, not just a lowered Sport model. Something with 200+ horsepower.
