The Ramblers' Association in Devon is calling for the government to defend the countryside from what it says is the damage caused by off-road vehicles, such as 4x4s, trail and quad bikes.
There was a substantial piece in The Yorkshire Post earlier this week. It seemed pretty fair to me, if you read the whole thing. Including the problem of actually blocking green lanes (access by occupiers of land).
One point made was that the abusers of green lanes aren't going to be stopped by closure notices, or even locked gates. It needs proper policing.
