OT: Crazy eBay again

I recently bought a memory upgrade for the laptop on eBay, but found it was not compatible, so I put it straight back on eBay (easier than posting back to the States and paying for postage on a different one). It's just sold for 4 quid more than I paid for it. The buyer was a Power Seller specialising in ...

... computer components.

Oh, how I love eBay.

Me too! I bought some LR parts on eBay for £31 a couple of months ago. I no longer need them, so put them back on eBay and got £120! No idea how I got them so cheap in the first place as £100-odd is the going rate!

...and Derek spake unto the tribes of Usenet, saying...

It currently has 1 x 256MB with a spare slot somewhere inside. Dell told me by phone that I could replace the 256 with a 512, but it wouldn't even boot up. Looks like I need another 256 to go inside, but at the moment I CBA to pull it all apart. It ain't straightforward! Spec is DDR333, I think.

Sorry mate checked it 128mb 266mhz ddr you will probably find the right numbers if you check on Crucial, Dell and others have a habit of putting oddball spec kit together so they get the upgrade business probably turn out to be parity or similar
