OT - Should I Complain

I am thinking of complaining to Persil regarding some of their washing powder and wondered if I could get the groups thoughts.

Last night, I washed among other things, my jeans. After washing, I looked outside. It was raining so I put my washing into the tumble dryer.

This morning, I look into jeans pocket to find my mobile phone. The phone does not work at all. It is FUBAR.

I am thinking of complaining to Persil for miss use of advertising.

My phone defiantly does not smell "Spring Fresh" as advertised on the bottle. It smells more of burnt out capacitors.

Your thoughts please.,

Mark (Mobile Phoneless)

Would you not be better directing any claim toward the manufacturer of the washing machine - or perhaps tumble dryer? I'm pretty sure that they should have stuck a label on the front warning you not to put mobile telephones, crockery or children in there.

Dear Mark,

We are sorry that your mobile phone does not smell "spring fresh". We can only assume that you have a faulty bottle.

Please accept our apologies, and this vouncher for a replacement bottle

Indeed... according to my experience with washing machines if the lable doesn't say you can't actually wash the phone then it should have been ok even on a hot wash and spin.

Once stuck a floppy disk with college assignment through the wash in a shirt pocket... 10 minutes with a stanley knife, seleotape, another disc case and Disk doctor got it going. PHHEEEWWWEEYYY!!

I went and got a new Battery for the Granada last week... for once I had a fight to actually purchase a battery, the sales geezer suspected everything else on my ford, quite wisely! (before drop testing the battery - it didn't bounce ;-) ). Anyway one of the helpful bits of advice he gave for batteries which won't hold charge is that you need to attach it to another Battery and then charge... Perhaphs if you jump start your phone whilst charging this will help.
