OT - small roadster

They are ragtops. Too revvy for my taste and same price as an Elise. Bit more practical though.

This is possibly may favourite so far

though I do like the look of the Fiat you cited (which is rather nearer to home too).

I thought the fiats looked rather pretty. dunno what they're like to drive, or anything.

Personally, for cuteness, I prefer the frogeye sprite to the later spridget.

"Not a project" almost certainly blocks off the kit-car option, but you are looking in the territory they cover. Lotus 7 styling, or just about anything. Wasn't there something in one of the Landie mags about somebody who'd put a '30s-style open tourer body onto a Series chassis?

I've seen one of those, a few years gone. Bentley 3-litre Green Label lookalike on a 109" SIII V8 chassis. It didn't look bad at all - very nicely finished - though the bulge of the diff on the front axle looked - odd - stuck out in front, and the centre gearchange made it a bit tight in the front (to the eye, anyway).

Doubt if it'd fit into the planned budget, though.
