Range Rover Radio

1995 Range Rover, with radio showing "----" where the code should be entered. We have the code from the main dealer, but even after leaving the car with the ignition on and radio off for 60 minutes, we still get nothing. It can't be a dead radio, can it, if the "----" is showing??? Any suggestions? Thanks...

If I remember rightly, you have to turn the radio off then hold the button "man" and at the same time turn on, then you can put in the code, if this doesn´t work then try a different button, I cant remember which key it was exactly, or maybe scan. Let us know how you get on

Looks like the whole unit has locked up. Probably a disconnected battery at some point then someone trying to reset it with "intuition" rather than the code

I think it'll have to be a dealer to unlock it, but thanks anyway...

That's dangerous talk round here. You're likely to be either abused or mobbed. Hmm, a source at a main dealer, must remember that...

An update on the radio problem.

We left the ignition and radio on for an hour or two, and the "----" case replaced with "CODE". Much cheered up, we entered the FOUR digit code given to us by the dealer AND written on the back of the radio, BUT after entering the numbers, nothing happened.

Is there an "Enter" button or the like? We don't want to play around too much in case we lock it up worse than before, but for now we're back to the "----".

Next stop will probably be the dealer to see if they can change the code or whatever it takes ... Any ideas on why entering what we believe to be the correct code doesn't work? Thanks.

normally after putting the code in you have to press the "search"or the right arrow key then should work.

Okay, problem solved - sorry guys. Brought out a mobile ICE man and he first discovered that the code was NOT the one given to us by the dealer (explains a lot), and second, reset it to a new code for us. Works beautifully!
