roof boxes

If you compare how many litres per pound/euro you get with a trailer instead of a roof box, roofboxes still come out bottom.

Roof boxes are substantially cheaper on ebay. I've just picked up a set of genuine Volvo roofbars half price, so now I'm looking out for a bargain roofbox to go on them.

Search for 'roofbox' and 'roof box', as there seems to be no consensus over the semantics of it.

I have a roofbox from sat in the backgarden doing nothing if someone wants it, free (well, beer is always welcome) to a good home but will need collecting, am near Jct26 M1.

I am taking my landie in for some welding tommorow and I don't know when I will get it back, otherwise I would have considered, if the size is right.

It's about three and a half foot by three, foot and a half high, good nick bar one of the locking points. Grey plastic jobbie from H*lfords.

I'm not going to fight you for it, and besides, this is your thread really. I won't take it for the sake of it anyhow - only if it happens to be exactly (or very near) what I am looking for.

The annoying thing about the roofboxes that Halfords et al want £200 for is that they are mostly about as robust as an Asda carrier bag. It can't be impossible to make something light AND sturdy.
