we need to prepare 2 300tdi stationwagons to be used in Iceland to drive on glaciers, any suggestions would be helpful. we wish to do the work ourselves.

BFO tyres... and cylinders of lighter fuel to reseat them.
lift kits: if you go up 2" or more you want re-worked radius arms for the front or different swivel housings to get the caster (castor?) angles right. failure to do this on a seriously lifted one will make it very flighty on the road.
You might also want double-jointed propshafts.
Ian Sykes at Four All Fours has been taking landrovers to Iceland for years,might be worth asking him.he has a website somewhere.He makes and sells Sumo bars so that might be a starting point. Mark.
