I'm now the proud owner of an ex-Range Rover V8, which will be going into the SIII. The engine in question is from a 1986 Vogue SE, but I've been told that the engine has been refurbished more recently than that and may not even be the original engine. There's a sticker on one of the rocker covers with the details of the refurbisher, so I'll probably give them a call and see what they have to say about it.
I have a few questions for those who know about these things :
- The donor vehicle was an automatic, but I am not taking the gearbox. the intention is to use the Milner kit to mate it to the SIII gearbox. Is the flywheel any different from the manual one (once the torque converter is removed)?
- I don't want the hassle and complexity of fuel injection, so I want to convert back to carbs. Looking for recommendations, along with a rough idea of cost. In fact, if anyone has cheap-ish, but good condition bits for sale, let me know..
- Well, ok - I don't have a question 3 right now - I'm sure it'll be along presently though.
thanks, Andrew
