What the hell is going on with all this "Microshit" spam and bullshit attachments and why the hell isn't Microsoft doing something about it.
I have to get myself a new email address every few weeks because my mailboxes are overflowing with Micros**t spam and attachments.
Microsoft won't have a single customer left if they don't act soon.
sorry mate, but i think we've gone over this issue about 5 times on this newsgroup. it's called the swen virus. sends out a ridiculous amount of spam from the infected computers, and every time using a different address as the sender, so blocking one address doesn't work. if using outlook express, the best thing to do is download "mailwasher" this allows you to examine all emails before actually downloading them.
Microsoft are unlikely to find themselves in that position, let's face it.
This is one it's hard to blame on them. Their O/S may be full of holes, but spoofing mails from Microsoft has nothing to do with MS themselves.

You can also use Netscape 7 or Mozilla 1.4 : they are less attacked than outlook, don't execute any html code by default (and so less prone to infect your computer with viruses), and have a nice "junk mail control" that can learn which mail are spam : after a few days, every spam mail is automatically directed to a junk folder...

Tell me about it, I had to manually remove a backdoor trojan this evening, because AVG didn't want to take it off, but the last 2 weeks, I've had a MINIMUM of 5-6 "Virus in this email" warnings for at least 2-3 weeks, and always ones that are meant to be from M$ckeyS$ft, but are not of course... That was the fist time for about 18 months that AVG couldn't remove the virus... A Little fuxxed tho, not sure how it got on thru AVG and ZA, which both whack attachments, and if AVG asks me to allow a new program, and I havn't just installed or updated summat, I say NO, plus it's set on HIGH for internet... Hmm
Also today, my totally unfirewalled and un antivirused works found out they had a Trojan, I found "funnies" because I was using TCP/IP to communicate between 2 programs, and kept getting garbled data... So ran AVG... And there was a TROJAN, on 9 out of 12 PC's
You could help yourself a bit by not posting to a newsgroup with a live email address!
