Hi all,

Recently my window wipers will not turn off and i dont know what the cause is. They work perfectly when the engine is off but as soon as i turn it on they will not turn off. Any suggestions?

faulty park switch in the wiper motor, most likely. As to whether it's fixable, depends on the wiper motor. sometimes it's a new motor.

Sorry I should have indicated that the vehicle is a 1998 Disco 300 tdi.

If it was a faulty park switch on the motor I think it would cause the problem at all stages. However this problem only manifests itself when the motor is running. I am wondering if there is a relay somewhere to indicate that the motor is running. There appears to be one to tell the rear wiper the car is in motion.

does it wipe when you turn on the ignition, but the engine isn't started?

I'm having trouble with your nomeclature. You seem to be using the word motor for things other than the wiper driver thingy. Interchangeably with engine and or vehicle/car. Perhaps it would be better if you quantified to which motor you are referring each time. eg wiper motor or vehicle motor.
