Can anyone tell me how to reset the ABS and check engine lights?

Remove the ECU fuse or negative battery terminal for 60 seconds and replace.

It worked for the check engine light but not the ABS

The brakes work fine and the car has 153.000 miles.

You're welcome!

If you removed the negative battery terminal and the ABS light came back on, then you have a problem with the ABS system. The next step is to pull the codes from the ABS computer.
