98 GS400 Radio LCD segments

Well, Lexus said it would cost $600 to replace the radio for burned out segments. Can you imagine going thru two radios in 5.5 years. I had it first replaced under warranty after only two years. It's a shame Lexus uses such inferior products. LCDs have a half life right up there with plutonium, how in the world did they find a vendor using such garbage. I have clock radios and calculators with LCDs that will still be working in the 40th century. Oh well, buyer beware.

No need to pay $600. Our shop repairs them around the $200 range.

Hello Turtle...

I am sensitive to the whole advertising thing as well.

We only work on the Audio part of the car. If your problem is in the clock, then no. Only the display on the radio itself.
