Snow Tyre recommendation for RX300 (UK)

I have a RX 300 with 215/70 R16's and live in the Highlands of Scotland. Can anyone recommend snow tyres?

I would suggest Nokian Brand tires. They should be available in your area.

Continental also do a good winter tyre in the 790. Both that and the nokian are available from

Always been surprised by the antipathy shown by scots towards snow tyres but from memory of my youth up there it was always ice that was the real killer and its only recently that winter tyres have started to get good in this respect. Mind you the police always seamed to close the roads the min it got interesting. If it is Ice you are trying to cope with it might be worth looking at the bridgestone blizzaks BUT I am told that these have high wear rate and it is only the first 45% of the tread that is good on slippy stuff wear beyond that and they are worse than average.

There are some god tyre reviews on some of the german sites and also

but some of those tyres may not be available here.
