Anyone got much experience of the rather interesting area of trying to get the waterpump belt at the right adjustment on VW campers with the 1.6TD watercooled motor. I am running on no shims at the moment and the belt really is too loose.
Any ideas.
Pulleys are a premium.

Are you sure it's the correct length belt?
Initially someone sold me one that was too long, but the local motor factor scoured their book and gave me what certainly seemed to be the right one, it had crossed my mind though, wonder if I should get a belt from VW.

That's probably a good idea.
Probably the best place to ask would be on the forums of: The Brickyard or Club 80-90 as they are specialist "wedge" clubs.
