1999 Audi A4 Avant Automatic

Hi all, Doe's anyone know the procedure and fluid/filter when it comes to 60,000 on the auto gearbox service? I recently bought a 1999 Avant 1.9 tdi auto with

55k and while I am v. happy with the performance I notice that there is some intermittent slip when accelerating. I am preparing for the gearbox and timing belt at the 60k service but want to be prepared for the stealership when I ask for a quote. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it really is slipping, I doubt a fluid change will help. A fluid change is a precaution - not a cure.

If the car has started 'slipping' it may be a worn drive band in the auto box, as this gets progressively worse, you may find that the car starts to lock itself into gears as a fail safe get you home mode. I would take it to an Auto gearbox specialist and get a professional opinion now, if you wait for things to start breaking up it could cost a lot more.

A Big Thanks for your replies.

I was trying to get an idea of the mechanics of the auto box and know that if the wrong fluid was put in or is breaking down then a change before the failsafe of safemode would prevent further problems. I suppose the chicken before the egg?
