Another holiday question

I guess nobody had an answer on the headlights...

Next question: Does Europe (specifically Germany) use the same oil viscosity ratings as the UK? Will I be able to buy 5W30 Oil for my Zetec engine off the shelf there or will it be called something else?

Thanks,

Tony

As far as I am aware the oil rating system is a global thing and as to the head lamps, park the car facing a dark wall and experiment with the lights on and some masking tape to see where your headlamp converters need to be fitted or better still take the expensive converters back to the shop and just use the masking tape!

black insulating tape, pop it along to your local mot centre and get them to stick it on their headlight aligner & pop a few sheckles into the tea break fund, works for us ;o)

Hmm - but we're doing an overnight crossing so I need to drive from Oxford to Harwich _without_ the headlights changed on Sunday evening...

The converters cost about 1 pound!

I think it pretty unlikely you would be charged with any offence...

If they're masked off with tape they won't dazzle anyone in either country.

The message from "Tony Brett" contains these words:

So once you've found where it goes, draw round it with a marker pen and put it back later.

Daft question - but the lights don't have a euro setting already, do they? (like my Omega, there's a slider on each lamp assembly to provide a euro-friendly beam)
