Another messer bites the dust

Exactly, if she really had to go to the post office, then she knew before she left the house and could have rung me either over the weekend or on the morning I was due. I got the impression it was some sort of 'power' thing, however, she lost (as I see it, anyway) She kept saying that she and her husband ' were not that sort of person' when clearly they were, so maybe they often mess people about. She also said she was determined that I should service the car, which started to sound a bit worrying, I thought, hence blocking her phone numbers.

Which explains why she's like she is ! Someone's ALWAYS willing to dig her out of trouble. How do kids learn when parents revel in being the ' Knight in shining armour ! ' Let her begin to 'grow up' and to soirt out her own mess.

Why not rebook her and tell her there's an extra hours labour on top for the pissing about and wasted time?

After she's passed her test it's her problem. While it's me that's going to be sat waiting in the car it's another matter. And no I don't clear up after her all the time.

I don't dig her out of trouble all the time. I just don't want to be sitting around waiting for her to fetch petrol.

I support my kids as best I can, but I do let them sort out their own messes. In my job I know all the principles of dealing with kids.

Our MrCheerful seems more ethical than that. I think his response was just right.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember asahartz saying something like:

S'pose that depends where you live. Round here we can still feel safe enough walking a couple of miles. Heck, she walks part of the route back from sixth form!

Also, whilst I agree with Alhambra's assertion, it makes it even more paramount, that young women are made to realise that they are responsible for their own safety and that includes not running out of petrol.
