An elederly relative has a L Reg Astra which is fitted with an immobiliser which causes him problems. It needs to have a small 'chip' device pressed into a shallow socked for about 3 seconds to enable the car to start. He has difficulty doing this due to a shake in his right hand. The chip also has a broken key ring loop so sooner or later he will loose it. I also believe it drains the battery a bit as there is a red light on all the time.
Can anyone identify the type of immobiliser and advise on how to remove it?
