Ford Granada Scorpio Immobiliser

I am posting this on behalf of a friend.

He had a lot of problems with the immobiliser on his Granada. Finally he paid someone £150.00 to Bypass/Disable it,that was 12 weeks ago it seemed to have worked OK. 3 days ago his son opened then closed the boot, when my friend came to use the car a short time later the immobiliser had been activated, nothing he does will turn it off. Also the boot won't open. He has tried disconnecting the battery and re-connected it but that didn't work. There appears to be no way to start the car or open the boot, the car just sits there making a ticking noise. His ford main dealer want a ton of money just to look at it!

Any suggestions or advice regarding his next step would be welcome !

Thanks Graham

ok, so find the alarm unit (from what I can remember it's under the dash on the drivers side) and just unhook it this should stop the alarm going off or on or whatever it needs to do the other option would be to replace the unit as it has been know to get water contamination (has it had the recall to fit the full battery cover and auxiliary fuse box cover?)
