looking to get the evaporator changed in an audi a4. main dealer wants over a grand.
can anyone recommend somewhere that may be cheaper? do audi do these repairs themselves or get contractors in to do it?
(im in hants btw.)

They almost certainly get a specialist in.
I used autogoosebumps (Farnborough) to top up my Mondeo - he seemed pretty good but I only had the gas so don't know enough to recommend for a bigger job - try a google on the name and you'll find his website.

I used autorads in sheffield for a compressor, evaporator and re-gas a few months ago and the total was £480 including vat. Find them in scoot.
It was a mondeo though
