Barum Bravuris

Every barum tyre I have ever come across has been absolute s*it, I would not put one on a trailer, let alone a car. (this is a very genuine post, I am not trying to wind you up !!. They are rubbish)

I had Barums from National on the front of a Skoda Favorit and they were very good. I then had them fitted all round on a rover 214 and they performed rather well. I then had them fitted on a Nissan Micra and they were a bit dodgy in the wet. The car they performed the worst on had the least power and was the smallest. It's like any tyre, they work on some cars and are just bollocks on others.

I got a set. I thought they were very good. Unlike most of the other budget PoS I buy, these ones actually held their pressure. To be frank though, first driving they took a big of getting used to. Felt like the tyre was made of jelly and giving way under me.

But I soon got used to them. 10,000 miles later, and Im not too keen. They seem to be a bit noisy with too much vibration and too sensitive to the road. Though being fair, that could just be my suspension, though the guys at National couldn't find a problem with my suspension.

I had one fitted to a car once after puncturing one when my usual tyre place was shut. A couple of weeks after I went and had the usual tyre I bought for that car fitted. It was absolutely shocking, even when you take into account that new tyres have mould release on them. I'd expect to be swapping ends the first time you lift off round a wet roundabout if I were you.

I've had Barum tyres twice. Once on a Fiesta, a single tyre that went completely flat in the snow and was not repairable - never found out why, but could have hit something underneath, or could have just blown. Once on a Polo, the front, but later moved to the back because the lack of traction and grip was incredible and the car tended to understeer anyway. So I would never buy them despite recommendations from people whose opinion I usually trust.
