Car 1998 Corsa 1.7D
Firstly what are "planet" batteries like, my mate fitted one last year, and its been ok .... so far....
Ive recently noticed that my battery has been running down quicker than i expected/have come to expect.
For example the other week i stopped outside my shop to unload my car for around 15 mins, as it is on a main road i had the engine off, headlamps on, hazardlights on, and rear fog lamp flash on....
after 15mins the car refused to start, dead battery, while i appricate the cold weather will reduce battery performace i expected rather longer than this, especially as the car had had a good hour of motorway running previous...
Again on Xmas day i was first on scence of a smash on the M1 i pulled over to help and left lights on, as before, for again 20 mins. The car started but felt very poor and lights dimmed out, general, battery running low feeling...
This was on the return of a manchester - london - manchester trip.
I have noticed that the battery light on the dash occationally comes on, but normally only when i got through a puddle, so im thinking the alternator gets splashed and doesnt like it??
i shall try wrapping the connections up with amalgamating tape and see what happens with that,
But has anyone any other pointers
TIA
