Battery Question

HiWe have a Rover 200 with a 1.4 engine. Want to buy a battery charger and amattracted to one that will charge both 12v and 6v batteries (helpful withmotorcycle as well as car) The only one I can find says it is suitable forcars over 1800cc....what would happen if I used this one? Sorry to sounddim - am female asking question on behalf of absent husband - so feel freeto treat me as someone who knows nothing about cars.....!Thanks allLyn
