Blocked vent?

Sep 14, 2004 5 Replies

My car (95 Honda Civic) has been giving out very little airflow, either hot or cold, even when I put the dial to its highest setting. The motor sounds working, giving loud noises as before. Is it possible that the vent system is blocked somewhere? How do I find out?

Thanks,

-JK.

If it has a pollen filter (probable) then it may be blocked.

What he said. I recently cleaned the pair of filters in my 2001 model. They were just above the glove-box and easily removed. I gently bashed them on a kitchen worktop to remove loose dust/bugs/etc, then ran them under a cold tap for a while and dried them off in a barely warm oven. This is the lo-tech approach, I should add. You are *supposed* to buy new ones.

If you start at

then follow links down through Owner and Workshop you will reach some online manuals. For 95-97 models, details of a filter (which seems to be on models with a/c only) can be found at, ultimately:

may need to dig around to find out how to get access behind theglovebox, main page is:

Many thanks for all the help. My car does not have A/C but does have the pollen filter, so was I told last time at service. I will try to see if I could find it.

Thanks again. -JK.
