I have a BMW 2000 320D series. It has developed a problem in that it wont start after having been left idle for more than 6 hours can anyone suggest the cause.

air leak in the fuel system of some description, maybe the leak off pipes

Is that the M47 engine as also used in Rover 75d chap i know with a 75 has spent £2K trying to get the same problem fixed. both fuel pumps replaced injectors sent for overhaul cam and crank position sensors changed.

Don?t what the outcome is, last i heard he was trying to take legal action against the garage. Oh and i forgot a new ECU on the list of parts replaced.
