Bodged or Not?

Question

Manged to break the casting of the MIL's 1.3 M Plate escorts alternator while trying to change the belt (don't ask, I was being a little heavy handed)

Lower left side mounting and just less than a1/3rd of the casting has come away.

I'm looking for advice on repairing said breakage. Instant treatmant was a breakers for a replacement but price is an issue.

Would an epoxy adhesive hold the joint? JB Weld springs to mind, not sure if it's good enough for the vibration it will probably endure.

I used chemical metal on a 2CV alternator bracket and it held for years. Not sure if the loading on an escrote one would be different / heavier / more vibration though.Mike P

Thanks MikeI tried Araldite Rapid Steel.  Cured for 8 hours of so, a small tap with a hammer and it just came apart again.  Oh well.

Shouldn't be any more than £20.Nice kind fellow Frank Beale of Desborough, allowed me to remove said item from a vehicle and charged me £10.  Learnt from my mistakes, new belt and alternator fitted in less than 1/2 an hour.Stupid idea to even contemplate 'gluing' the thing back together for that sort of price.
