Bump from Fiesta front end.

The thing is 12 years old, so I suppose it's time things started packing in . I heard a bump from the front drivers-side wheel last night, turning rig ht slowly at full lock. It seemed to jump to the left maybe a half-inch, t oo. I couldn't see anything on the ground, but maybe it was a stone that b ounced away, or a slip on a white line in the car park. I'm planning to co mpress the spring and wobble things about at the weekend, but does anyone h ave any other suggestions first?

That's going to be a broken spring. Hazard of modern life, and no reflection on the age of the car.

most common is the anti roll bar link, cheap to buy and not difficult to replace. next would be the bottom ball joint or one of the rubber bushes (change the whole arm). broken spring, worn out shock absorber.

Thanks, that would be an easy one to check.

Okay, thanks for the suggestions. There has been a weird sort of tinkly no ise which (due the appearance and size of them) I could easily attribute to the drop links. But to be honest, that noise sounds more like pinking.
