I had the engine of my Mondeo replaced after it was damaged by an oil leak. The mechanic that swapped the engines gave me back the old engine and suggested I keep it for spares. It had sat for over a year in my garage but the garage is not very weather proof. Is it worth keeping?
I could sell the turbo and the alternator. Is there anything else of value on it? Or should I just scrap it?

Look on ebay to what other similar engines have sold for, and make a judgement on that.
You will get more if you are prepared to pull it to bits. For example, is the cylinder head undamaged?

You don't quote the age or mileage.
You say damaged by an oil leak, does this mean the crankshaft bearings are wiped and/or the pistons seized in the cylinders?
Unless it is a sought-after model, I expect only the removable bits will be of interest. But eBay should tell you.
