Please could someone explain what is "City Diesel" and what garages sell it in the UK? TIA

explains adequately. You can get it most places.

AFAIK it is just Ultra Low Sulphur diesel.

AFAIK you can't buy anything else in the UK, because the tax regime works in its favour. There is a performance/economy penalty of around 5% using ULSD rather than 'standard' diesel.

using ULSD

That's correct AFAIK. City Diesel was branded as such because it was one of the first ULSD around at the time when other refineries had not geared up for production.

Our local Safeway forecourt has both City Diesel and Ulta Low Sulphur Diesel - separate nozzles on the pump. Of course they might both be fed from the same storage tank.

Are they the same price?
