It was actually marketed as a MX-3 in this country (Autozam AZ-3 in Japan).

If it has it'll be after market or optional - no manufacturer was required to fit them standard until 1998..

Thanks, it seems that in this case it was added by the owner. However, I once had a 1996 Audi A6 which came with a factory-fitted immobiliser.
