Sounds like the Ign barrel is faulty.

Not a good idea to pull battery leads off when running as you will stuff the alternator and aother electronic bits. If there is no power to the coil the engine will stop (unless it is "running on" in which case you need to stall it) So establish whether disconnecting the coil power lead will stop it, if so then find where it is still being supplied with power from, faulty wiring at the starter or ign switch are possibles.

first off i removed the wire to the coil which stops the car from running when started normally, and twhen it stillr an with this off i was stumped as i tried another wire and kept on running, all i could think of was the bettery pos lead off.

Ig barrel i think i will try first.

It's easy to check if it's the ign switch before going to the bother of changing it.

If you take out the key and the car is still running, disconnect the connector from the back of the ign switch to see if the engine stops. There could be a short somewhere else that has nothing to do with the ign switch.
