Right PITA job, the wishbones I done were in such bad nick that the rear bolt had bent. I eventually took a hacksaw blade (and a glove) and cut through the small bit of bush and through the bolt. Takes a good 20 minutes but will save you hours if you persist with trying to get a spanner on it.
you can get a spanner on the top nut from underneath, an 18mm offset ring. the bolt itself is 15mm preferably single hex used with an air impact wrench.

many thanks, used the hacksaw took me about 30 mins and an aching arm,but new one fitted and back on the road.
Cheer`s lad`s.
I made sure I bought a nice new sharp blade first, older ones can really add time :-)

I swear by the Eclipse ones. No other blade is nearly as good IME.

TBH, the time wasted in finding Eclipse ones would probably be time better spent getting wired into the job at hand ;-) Any new blade was good enough for me, I was in that much of a rush to get the bolt out.
The time spent finding a bimetal ones often worth the aggro induced by the all hss ones.

I would be the same. All I meant was, next time you need to buy one, get Eclipse.
i.e. shattering? ;-)

They're crap 8-( Used to be excellent (the bimetallic ones at least) but in the last few years they've gone down the pan. I'm buying Sandvik now.
When I took mine off I used an open jaw spanner which I'd heated a little and bent to about 15 degrees, you get at it through a little gap up there between the skin and spome other parts, I can't remember which ones though.
The spanner I used was about 7" long and bent from about 1.5" from the bottom of the jaws.
Alternatively, Ford produce a tool for the job. If you want the spec I'll dig out my handbook and let you know the spec on it.
