It's the car trying to get rid of Peter. You know how annoying he is here - now imagine what it's like being his car and having to put with him all that time. The noises are merely a self defence measure.

The pinking seems to be back to how it was :-(. I think the next step is going to be checking all of the tubing and maybe replacing some of it.

The first of the Mk3's were all built in germany where the steel was much better quality. In mid 85 all models apart from the Ghia production moved to spain where the steel was crap! Now you know.

Peter seems to take these gibes in his stride, I doubt I would react the same way! So, in due deference to that I cannot advocate rectal insertion of a combustible fluid into a human being, it would have to be intended for the Fiat ;-)

I had a MkIV from the German factory - at 12 years old it wasn't rusty, didn't smoke too much, didn't have the CVH 'death rattle' and all the toys still worked (It was a GL Plus, so had quite a few).

Was still a heap of s**te, though.

Done nothing wrong :-o! Somebody tried to break into my car and the Fiat let the escape with all of their limbs, it's shouldn't have let then get away in one piece :-(. No it's also made loads of noises that I've described and it's leaked oil :-(
